Hellcat

You don't see Hellcat cosplay that often, so this costume is a pleasant surprise!

In the comics, Hellcat is Patsy Walker. The character of Patsy Walker has a long history at Marvel Comics. She was originally the star of her own comic book which debuted in 1945 under Timely Publications. It ran until 1965. She gained her Hellcat identitiy in Avengers #144 and has been an established Marvel Superhero ever since.

Aquaman

IMG_6428, originally uploaded by snake_eyes_llc.

This is a great interpretation of Aquaman's costume, which can be tough to pull off without looking a little silly. Many costumes tend to go too orange in the shirt portion, but I think this costume brings it to a nice natural tone.

Aquaman's had a very choppy time in the DC Universe over the last few years. He's currently starring in the Brightest Day series and I hope he will be back in his own series soon.

Scarlet Witch

YA YA HAN 4, originally uploaded by THE MASKED RAVEN.

The Scarlet Witch has experienced a difficult decade in Marvel Comics. She went a little crazy in the House of M saga and used her magic to create an entirely different world where things were seemingly better for everyone. When that didn't work out, she got rid of most of the mutants on Earth, leaving them without powers. Then she went into hiding.

Here's hoping that Scarlet Witch will soon return to prominence in the Marvel Universe.

The costume above, worn by Yaya Han, is probably one of the best recreations of the outfit ever presented.

Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel, originally uploaded by TakagiNaoSama.

Ms. Marvel has become one of the most popular superheroine cosplay characters. In the Marvel comic books, she has enjoyed somewhat of a revival in the last decade and fans have really responded to her new prominence in the Marvel Universe.

The character first appeared as her alter ego Carol Danvers in the 1960s, but gained superpowers and her comic book in 1977. A new Ms. Marvel comic books series was launched in 2006. Though that series was cancelled. Ms. Marvel still enjoys the spotlight as one of the Avengers.

This costume is the Ultimate version of Captain America. Marvel's Ultimate line began around the turn of the millenium as a way of resetting the Marvel universe without interrupting the current titles. Captain America belonged to the Ultimates, that universe's version of the Avengers.

Psylocke is a mutant in the X-Men comic books. She was first introduced in American comics in New Mutants Annual #2 as Captain Britain's sister, Elizabeth Braddock. Since then, she has gone through transformations, acquiring ninja skills, a new body and new costume — which is well represented by the cosplay above.

Excellent Thor costume - very good work. The helmet looks great! The hammer actually has the Thor oath. The gold plating of the armor is also very detailed!
